RULES

Our rules.

1. Eligibility

1.1 The awards are open to immersive experiences created, produced or operated anywhere in the world.
1.2 Eligible work must have launched, opened, or operated between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025.
1.3 Experiences that reopened or relaunched significantly within this period (new storyline, new location, major redesign) are eligible.
1.4 Student work, prototypes, and conceptual projects are not eligible unless they were open to the public.
1.5 Independent creators, agencies, studios, producers, venues, collectives and companies of all sizes may enter.

2. Entry Process

2.1 All entries must be submitted through the official entry form on our website.
2.2 Entrants may submit a project into multiple categories, provided each entry meets the criteria for that category.
2.3 A separate fee applies for each category entered.
2.4 Entrants must ensure all materials are complete at the time of entry.

3. Submission materials

3.1 Each entry must include:

  • Project title

  • Location / platform

  • Launch dates

  • Project summary (max. 500 words)

  • Creative intent and audience journey (max. 500 words)

3.2 Supporting materials:

  • Hero image

  • Supporting images

3.3 Video guidance, if submitting filmed content

  • Clips up to 3 minutes

  • May be edited from longer recordings

  • Handheld, low-light or mobile footage is acceptable

  • Production quality is not judged

3.4 Confidential elements should be clearly marked. Proprietary material will not be shared publicly.

4. Fees

4.1 Entry fees for the 2026 awards are:

  • Early Bird (to 10 February 2026) — £150

  • Standard — £180

4.2 Fees are non-refundable except in cases of administrative error by the awards team and are subject to UK VAT where applicable.

5. Judging

5.1 Entries are assessed by an independent panel of judges.
5.2 Judging is conducted remotely, using submitted materials only.
5.3 Scoring is based on published criteria including:

  • Concept and originality

  • Craft and execution

  • Immersion and engagement

  • Narrative or world-building

  • Innovation and use of technology

  • Audience impact

The decision of the judges is final. Feedback and scoring will not be shared and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Winners

6.1 A gold, silver and bronze winner will be awarded in each category.
6.2 Winners may receive:

  • Digital winner’s badge

  • Feature profile on the website

  • Publicity through press partners and channels

6.3 Winners may be asked to provide further assets (images, quotes) for publication.

7. Rights and permissions

7.1 Entrants confirm they hold rights to all submitted materials.
7.2 Entrants grant the Immersive Experience Awards, and their organisers Alternative Future Ltd, permission to use:

  • Supplied descriptions

  • Images

  • Short video excerpts (up to 30 seconds) solely for promotional and editorial use relating to the awards. Full submitted videos will not be shared publicly without express consent.

8. Disqualification

Entries may be disqualified if:

  • Eligibility dates or requirements are not met

  • Submitted information is knowingly inaccurate

  • Required rights or permissions are lacking

  • Content promotes harm, discrimination or illegal activity

Fees will not be refunded for disqualified entries.

9. Agreement

In entering the competition, the entrant agrees that they have read and understood the competition rules and are complying with their terms and conditions. The contest and its rules shall be governed by English law.
